On June 23 at 4:50 a.m. the Waterbury Police responded to an armed robbery at the Sunoco gas station. Detectives are looking to identify the white male suspect seen in this video.

WATERBURY — Police have released dramatic surveillance video of an armed robbery last month in hopes the public can help solve it.

The holdup happened in the Sunoco gas station convenience store, 1153 South Main St., at 4:50 a.m. June 23. No one was injured.

A surveillance camera captured a closeup view of the robber, who walked into the store holding a silver gun straight out in front of him. The man stuffed the stolen cash into his sweatshirt pocket before leaving and running south on South Main Street.

He was wearing dark clothes, including a hooded sweatshirt, and is about 5 feet 7. His hood was over his head and much of his face was obscured.
