Guests may enjoy wine by the glass, all the more enticing by the fire. (KRYSTIN BARNETT / February 19, 2009) |
Connoisseurs of Chardonnay, masters of Merlot, critics of Cabernet; and those who simply enjoy a glass of wine now and then, will find a tranquil environment at Chamard Vineyard.
Set back on a windy road, over hills and through some very 'New England' woods, Chamard is a welcome respite with all the charm of Grandmother's house.
A dirt road leads you between rows of grapevines to the warm stone house, nesting a wine cellar full of reds, whites, and blushes.
During the gray and seemingly endless winter months, the rustic fireplace will draw you inside; it won't take long for you to prop your feet up, admire a few photographs of the vineyard, and request a glass of Chamard Merlot.
