Each year, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) present the Good Citizenship Award to youth who demonstrate exceptional character, dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. On May1, the Judea Chapter of DAR honored several high school students from area public, private, and parochial schools during a ceremony at the Gunn Memorial Library in Washington. One honoree was Justin Frankl, a graduating senior of The Glenholme School.

The Glenholme School recently held a student art exhibit and auction at Marty's, a caf and gallery in Washington Depot. Twenty students ages ten to post-graduate took part in this year's show. The result was a marvelous success - the atmosphere was festive, the art was fresh and new, and the community response to the art offering was astounding.

Connecticut Landmarks' Bellamy-Ferriday House and Garden will host an exhibition of nature-inspired drawings, India ink paintings and sculptures by Martha and Ted Schwerdtle, titled "Two Perspectives." The exhibit is the second in a series of four exhibitions of local artists at the Bellamy-Ferriday Visitor's Center. "Two Perspectives" will be on display from Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, July 21 and is accessible to the public during regular museum hours.The exhibit's opening reception will be held on Friday, June 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
