Catching A Beach Ball

Elijah Little, 8, a third grader from the Gaffney School in New Britain, was one of more than one thousand students visiting the Ct. Science Center on Tuesday. Elijah was trying to catch a beach ball which was being kept aloft by a stream of air below it, one of the exhibits in the Forces in Motion gallery. He may not have known it, but Elijah was learning about air pressure. The Ct. Science Center, with 150 hands-on exhibits, a state-of-the-art 3D digital theater, and four educational labs, is celebrating it's first birthday this Saturday with half-off the general admission price.
