Photos: Residents Rally Against Armed Security Officers In Schools
In an effort to convince community leaders not to put armed security officers in Enfield schools, students and parents held a rally Monday. The group of about 30 people gathered at about 5 p.m. to catch members of the town council as they entered town hall for a meeting. They brought signs and the Connecticut flag with them. They should be trying to educate people about gun violence rather than have armed officers patrolling schools, said Lila Wilcox, 14, a student at Enfield High School. Those who gathered Monday, agreed. "There's so many things that could go wrong," said 15-year-old Nick Ide, the Enfield High School student who organized the rally.
