GLASTONBURY — A local man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly threatened officers in the driveway of his home on Matson Hill Road and then fled, police said.

Officers were called to 556 Matson Hill Road Wednesday night after a report of a distraught, intoxicated man. While at the scene, officers were threatened by the man with a gun, police said. He then fled.

Glastonbury officers and members of the Capital Region Emergency Services Team set up around the house of Michael Murphy, 38, on Matson Hill Road Thursday and took him into custody without incident, police said.

Murphy was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a firearm under the influence, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with an officer and other charges.

He is being held on a $450,000 bond, police said.
