2009 Groundhog Day: Not Accurate

Molly, the groundhog at the Lutz Children's Museum, made her debut as Chuckles VII during the annual Groundhog Day ceremony in 2009. At the ceremony her shadow predicted 6 more weeks of winter. 

During the month of February the average temperature was 33.4 degrees which is 1.5 degrees warmer then the normal average temperature. At the end of February the total amount of precipitation was 1.16 inches, down 1.76 inches from the normal amount.
