Pictures: Southington Italian Festival
The seventh annual Southington Italian Festival kicked off Friday evening along Center Street in downtown Southington. Hundreds of attendees filled the street under clear skies to listen to live musical performances, enjoy carnival rides and games and to especially have taste of of some Italian themed cuisine. The Italian Festival is hosted by the Sons of Italy and the Southington chapter of Unico. The festival continues Saturday with from noon to 11 p.m. On Sunday the festival opens with an Italian Mass followed by a procession of the Madonna. The Festival ends on Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
