DANBURY — A small plane crashed near Miry Brook Road while trying to land at the nearby airport Thursday night but no one was injured, fire officials said.
The call came in for the crash, which happened near the Danbury Airport, about 7 p.m., police said. Fire officials said the plane had crashed in a large swamp about a quarter-mile from runway 35 at Danbury Airport.
Fire officials said that the pilot was flying the plane from the south attempting to land on the runway. The pilot was found standing on top of the single engine 1984 Beechcraft Bonanza.
The pilot was not injured.
Danbury Police Department, State Police, Danbury Airport Administration and the National Transportation Security Board are investigating the incident.
