Anne Arundel County health officials say more than 3,000 gallons of sewage have spilled out of a pumping station in Arnold.

The Twin Harbors IV Pumping Station spilled the sewage on Thursday. The sewage did not reach nearby Dividing Creek on the Magothy River.

Anne Arundel County Department of Health officials said there is "no danger present" after they completed an assessment of the spill.

Health officials said the county's Department of Public Works cleaned up the land area affected.

"There are no recreational water health risks associated with the spill," a Health Department statement said, adding that there are no restrictions on boating, fishing, crabbing, swimming, direct water contact or recreational activities in Dividing Creek.

Baltimore Sun reporter Jacques Kelly and the Associated Press contributed to this report.
