According to Anne Arundel County police, officers responded around 4:09 p.m. to a report of an accident on Route 100 eastbound and Magothy Bridge Road in Pasadena.

Rte 100 & Magothy Bridge Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122, USA
Their report stated that the Highlander was heading east on Route 100, approaching Magothy Bridge Road, when the driver of the Chrysler, traveling on Magothy Bridge Road, turned left against a red light.
According to police, the Highlander struck the Chrysler and the Chrysler struck the UPS truck.
The driver of the UPS truck, Aaron Christopher Matthews, 41, of the 1300 block of Stoneleigh Count in Stoney Beach, received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
The driver of the Highlander, Jeffrey Scott Sullivan, 55, of the 4700 block of Henshaw Lane in Pasadena, received injuries and was transported by helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is in serious condition, according to the police department. The driver of the Chrysler, Robert Frederick Risley, 72, of the 600 block of Simms Landing Road in Crownsville, received no injuries, according to the police report.
According to the police report, driver error appears to be a contributing factor in the accident, but there was no indication that excessive speed or alcohol or drug use contributed to the accident. The investigation is continuing.
