A ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday in Aberdeen will honor Vietnam veterans.
The ceremony will be at the Vietnam War Memorial in Anderson Park, 1622 Sixth Ave. S.E.
Benches will be provided, but to ensure seating for everyone, attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the memorial service will be moved to the Aberdeen Area Senior Center building.
The program will last about 45 minutes and will be followed by a lunch for those who attend the memorial service. The lunch will be at the C.C. Croal Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 17 at 821 Circle Drive behind Aberdeen Chrysler Center.
The war memorial at the park was damaged by a car earlier this month. An Aberdeen man faces charges related to the wreck.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce Military/Veterans Committee and the Vietnam Memorial Committee were formed to help plan events for summer and fall. They seek public input.
