The 12th season of the Hartford Public Library's popular Baby Grand Jazz Series will feature combos led by pianists Eli Yamin, Eri Yamamoto, Mihoko, Laszlo Gardony, Matt DeChamplain, Jonny King, Brian Marsella and Hey Rim Jeon; trumpeter Nick Di Maria; singer Jolie Rocke Brown; bassist Steve Clarke; and others, according to a press release.
The Eli Yamin Jazz Quartet kicks off the series, which runs on Sundays at 3 p.m. from January through April, on Jan. 4. Thanks to the Charles H. Kaman Charitable Foundation, all the concerts are free. The series is also a partnership with Hartford Jazz Society and WWUH 91.3 F.M.
“We are thrilled to once again bring this fantastic series to Downtown Hartford this winter,” Matt Poland, chief executive officer for Hartford Public Library, said in the release. “Baby Grand Jazz is a distinctive opportunity to be in a warm place with people of all ages and savor outstanding live music together. Music is universally enjoyed, and we’re proud to showcase jazz, one of Hartford’s most celebrated artistic traditions with all who wish to experience its captivating sound and melody.”
