For more than 70 years Texas-native Willie Nelson has been writing and performing, and he once again brings his original, outlaw country style to Connecticut for a 7 p.m. concert at Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Willie Nelson and Family’s summer and fall tour features songs from his 2014-release ‘Band of Brothers,’ which marked his return to songwriting with nine original tracks. Folk-band Old Crow Medicine Show opens for Nelson. The 6-member band has produced eight full-length albums since they formed in 1998, including the popular summer hit ‘Wagon Wheel.’

Tickets ($38 to $98) are available online at ticketmaster.com or at the Simsbury Meadows box office the day of the event.
