The last time the prefabricated, Disney Channel-friendly Australian boy band 5 Seconds of Summer headlined a show in Connecticut, it was winter — February 2014 at the 700-capacity Toad’s Place in New Haven.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m., the band brings its Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour to the Xfinity Theater, 61 Savitt Way, Hartford. The group has developed plenty of original material but started out as a cover band and still does tunes by Eminem, Green Day and The Romantics during live shows.

Besides the heart-throbby 5SOS (which will be releasing a second album, “Sounds Good Feels Good” in October), the Socks Out tour features the L.A.-based female pop-punk band Hey Violet, formerly known as Cherri Bomb. Hey Violet recently signed with 5 Seconds of Summer’s new label, Hi or Hey Records. The bands did the European leg of the tour together and have been touring America since mid-July. If recent tradition holds, you might find Hey Violet outside the venue pre-show performing a special acoustic set for loyal fans. $20 to $175. Information: 860-548-7370, livenation.com
