Brooklyn baroque pop band San Fermin is now a sprawling eight-member ensemble, coming together after Ellis Ludwig-Leone wrote an entire album and recorded it with nearly two dozen musicians.

That album is San Fermin’s self-titled debut, released in 2013. Ludwig-Leone wrote and studied classical music while he was a student at Yale, and treated that first album like he was composing a piece of classical music. Earlier this year, San Fermin released its second album, “Jackrabbit,” full of songs that Ludwig-Leone wrote before the band took off, revisited and reworked through those new experiences.

San Fermin plays Hamden at the Ballroom at the Outer Space on Thursday, Dec. 3. Joining the band on this tour is folk singer-songwriter Sam Amidon. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15. Information: 203-288-6400 or manicproductions.org.
