Modern metal rocker Maynard James Keenan (also known as MJK) formed Puscifer in 2003 following his success as the vocalist for Tool and A Perfect Circle.

That solo side project is now the most active of Keenan’s musical pursuits. There’s even a Puscifer Store in Jerome, Ariz., that sells clothing, clocks, mugs, shot glasses and other products endorsed by the band. Puscifer live shows are considered experimental theater events as much as they are music concerts. These esoteric cabaret revues feature a full six-piece band and elaborate stage sets.

The current Puscifer lineup, including acclaimed singer Carina Round and Ministry bassist Paul Barker, is on the road promoting the new album “Money Shot” with a performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the historic Shubert Theatre, 247 College St., New Haven. Tickets range from $25 to $145. Information: 203-562-5666, shubert.com.
