With the hope of bringing jazz to a new generation, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are performing selections from their 2014 jazz duets album, “Cheek to Cheek,” on a world tour this summer, including a stop at Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Monday, June 29. “Cheek to Cheek” includes songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin.
Gaga’s third No. 1 album this decade marks a drastic change from the pop style of her previous two, but critics have applauded her vocal ability in this new genre as well. Bennett also broke new ground with this record, becoming the oldest person with a No. 1 on the charts.
