Guitarist Julian Lage, who’ll bring his trio to the Side Door in Old Lyme Friday, Feb. 13, makes a habit of collaborating with unique players, including Wilco’s Nels Cline (on last year’s “Room”) and Chris “Critter” Eldridge of the Punch Brothers (Lage and Eldridge performed together in Connecticut in 2013).
Lage, a former child prodigy, is also a longtime member of vibraphonist Gary Burton’s band and has also recorded with pianist Fred Hersch (2013’s “Free Flying”); this all happened before Lage turned 27. He’ll be on the scene for a long time, and that’s good for listeners. The music starts at 7:30 p.m.; tickets are $35. Information: thesidedoor.com
