The legendary Gladys Knight, sans Pips but co-headlining with The O’Jays, is at Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Grand Theater, 39 Norwich-Westerly Road (Route 2) in Ledyard, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

Known for her plaintive reaction to her baby leaving on a midnight train to Georgia, Knight has been a solo act since 1988, when her ubiquitous backup singers, The Pips, retired. She also has distinguished herself as an actress on sitcoms such as “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “30 Rock,” “House of Payne” and “The First Family.”

As for the O’Jays, the group has been touring and recording for half a century and still features two founding members. Hits include “Love Train,” “Back Stabbers, “Use Ta Be My Girl” and the 1974 track now known as the theme for Donald Trump’s show “The Apprentice, “For the Love of Money.” $59.70 to $79.50.
