Lee Brice, Tal National, Nick Lowe And Others Announce Area Shows

Country star Lee Brice brings the Jagermeister Country Tour to Wallingford’s Toyota Oakdale Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 along with young singer and storyteller Canaan Smith. Tickets ($34-$45) go on sale Friday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. through oakdale.com or by calling 800-745-3000.

DADA LIFE — the Swedish DJ duo — is also coming to Wallingford. Tickets ($40) for the 6 p.m. Aug. 27 performance are available through oakdale.com.

Detroit rockers Wilson have joined Trivium and Tremonti’s Hardrive Live tour, which kicks off on Sept. 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Wilson will bring songs from their new record, “Right to Rise” to The Webster in Hartford on Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. Tickets ($25-$28) are available through ticketfly.com. The Wailers ($44-$64) head to Infinity Hall in Hartford on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. as they continue to spread Jamaica’s reggae tradition around the world. The following month, songwriting legend Nick Lowe ($39-$54) makes his Infinity Hall debut with special guest Josh Rouse at 8 p.m. on Oct. 8. On Halloween night, the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, featuring slide mandolin, hosts a costume ball at Hartford’s Infinity Hall at 8 p.m. for between $29 and $39. In November, two rock shows come to Infinity Hall in Norfolk on back-to-back days. American idol winner David Cook ($34-$49) performs Nov. 6 at 8 p.m., while Jersey-based rock band, The Smithereens ($50-$70), play at 8 p.m. on Nov. 7. Rain, a tribute to the most widely celebrated band — the Beatles — plays at Northampton’s Calvin Theatre at 8 p.m. on Feb. 24. Tickets ($35-$55) go on sale Friday, Aug. 7, online through IHEG.com, by calling 413-586-8686 or at Northampton’s box office.

The WimBash Beach Festival comes to West Haven’s Old Grove Park and Savin Rock Beach at 4 p.m. on Aug. 16 featuring the WimBash Beach All-Star band: Doug Wimbish, Corey Glover, Paul Pesco, Daru Jones and three special guests. The festival is free and open to the public and will also contain performances from the Brady Brothers, Tears Fall Down, Chemical Z and others. Information: dougwimbish.com

Hike to Mic — featuring Will Evans from Barefoot Truth, Atlas Gray, Kais and Dollz and the KC sisters — is coming to Talcott Mountain’s Heublein Tower in Simsbury from noon until sunset on Aug. 29. Tal National — Niger’s most popular band — returns for a second tour of the United States this fall and their second stop is Hartford’s Real Art Ways Creative Cocktail Hour on Aug. 20. Tickets ($10/$5 for RAW members) The fall tour promotes the band’s 2015-release “Zoy Zoy,” which features both original songs and arrangements of West African folk songs.

Boston-based band Off & On and New York-based Hey Anna convene at BAR in New Haven for a 9:30 p.m. performance on Sept. 2. The 21+ event put on by Manic Productions is free to BAR patrons.

Kristin Hersh — founder of Throwing Muses — arrives at the Iron Horse Music hall in Northampton for a solo acoustic performance at 7 p.m. on Aug. 8 with Dave Houghton of Fancy Trash as the opening act. Performing old hits and songs from their recent release “Beautiful Friction,” the Fixx ($38) return to The Ridgefield Playhouse at 8 p.m. on Sept. 2. Just a few days later — Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. — Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters ($60) will take the stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse to perform selections from their new record, “Somewhere Down the Road.” Tickets and information for both shows are available at the box office or by calling 203-438-5795.
