Jack’s Mannequin singer/pianist Andrew McMahon transitioned to making piano-based pop-rock under his own name sometime around the middle of 2012, then started opening shows for Fun and headlining his own tours.
These days he calls his act “Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness,” which slyly suggests the 32-year-old Massachusetts native and cancer survivor feels somehow lost. “Cecilia and the Satellite,” the first single on McMahon’s 2014, doesn’t sound like that at all, even when he sings “for all the places I have been, I’m no place without you.” McMahon brings his band to the Webster in Hartford on Nov. 8, with Hunter Hunted and Junior Prom opening.
ANDREW MCMAHON performs on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Webster Theater in Hartford, with Hunter Hunted and Junior Prom opening. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $26-$28. Information: webstertheater.com.
