"American Idol" veteran Katharine McPhee is set to join "American Beauty" veteran Wes Bentley in the indie thriller "The Storyteller."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Angelo Masciantonio is directing the project, which will be produced by Feverpitch Pictures.
Bentley plays a writer whose life begins to crumble after the death of his father. Things get complicated from there, as the trade paper says his assistant (McPhee) begins "investigating whether his muse as well as narrator for his stories ([Anita] Briem) is a figment of his imagination."
We're not exactly sure what that last part means.
Bentley and McPhee's involvement in the film had been speculated for several months, but production is now expected to begin in August.
McPhee will get her first big screen break with a supporting role in the late-summer comedy "The House Bunny." She was the second-place finisher in the fifth installment of FOX's "American Idol."
Bentley was most recently seen in "Ghost Rider" and "P2."
