WWII Propaganda Film 'Mission To Moscow' At New Haven Library

On Saturday, Jan. 6, New Haven Free Public Library will show a World War II propaganda film, made at the request of President Franklin D.Roosevelt in the days when the Soviet Union was America’s ally.

“Mission to Moscow,” directed by Michael Curtiz in 1943, is based on the book by Joseph E. Davies, the former U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union. The movie tells the story of the second American ambassador to the Soviet Union.

Showtime is at 2 p.m. at the library at 133 Elm St. A discussion with Jacinto Liirola will follow the screening.
