Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, 600 Main St. in Hartford, has two very different, interesting film events coming up.

“Diamond Ruff” will be shown on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. The crime drama, which was written by Joe Young of Hartford and filmed in Hartford, tells the story of a man who turns over a new leaf while in prison and is challenged to permanently change himself after he gets out. Young will be in attendance at the screening, as will members of the cast and crew.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the museum will show a quadruple feature of classic movies. The program of films is an homage to Iris Barry, the founder of the film department at the Museum of Modern Art, who in 1934 organized the first film retrospective in an American museum at the Atheneum. The films the Atheneum will show Sunday are from that program.

They are “Foolish Wives,” a 1922 seduction drama, at 1 p.m.; “The Blue Angel,” Marlene Dietrich’s breakout role from 1930 about a man driven mad with lust over a singer, at 3 p.m.; “Teddy at the Throttle,” a short comedy from 1917, at 5:15 p.m.; and “The Gold Rush,” Charlie Chaplin’s comedy about an explorer in the Klondike, at 5:45 p.m.

Admission to either event is $9; $8 seniors and students, $7 members; free for Insider Access members. Information: thewadsworth.org.
