Thriller ‘The Uninvited’ Part Of Hollywood At The Bijou Series

The Bristol Historical Society’s Hollywood at the Bijou film series will continue with a screening of a 1944 thriller.

“The Uninvited” tells the story of a brother and sister who move into an old abandoned house, where they soon begin hearing unexplained noises, as well as stories about people who used to live there. It stars Ray Milland, Ruth Hussey, Donald Crisp and Cornelia Otis Skinner. The film, accompanied by classic cartoon shorts, is shown on Friday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 6, at 1 and 7 p.m. at the society at 98 Summer St.

The next two films in the series are “The Mummy” on Friday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20, at 9 p.m. and “Psycho” on Friday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. Admission to all films is $3. preservehollywood.org.
