“A Tale of Love and Darkness,” a 2016 drama written by, directed by and starring Natalie Portman that never received a full theatrical release in the Hartford area, will be shown for five days at Cinestudio in Hartford.

The Hebrew-language drama is based on the memoir by Amos Oz, of his childhood growing up in the early days of the state of Israel. Portman portrays Oz’s mother.

“A Tale of Love and Darkness” will be shown Sunday to Thursday, Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, at the theater on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford, at 7:30 p.m. each day, with a 4:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. $10, $8 for seniors and students. cinestudio.org.
