RiffTrax, those guys from “Mystery Science Theater 3000” who screen bad classic films and rip them to shreds live, take on “Samurai Cop.”

The craptastic, 1991 action thriller tells the story of two cops on the trail of a renegade branch of the Yakuza crime syndicate that wants to control the L.A. drug trade. The film stars Robert Z’Dar, a veteran bad-movie actor who has starred in two other RiffTrax films, “Soultaker” and “Future War.”

RiffTrax is made up of Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett.

Showtime is April 13 at 8 p.m. In Connecticut, it will be shown at AMC Lisbon, 162 River Road; Cinemark Buckland Hills, 99 Red Stone Road in Manchester; Cinemark Enfield, inside the mall; Cinemark Connecticut Post, 1201 Boston Post Road in Milford; Cinemark North Haven, 550 Universal Drive; Regal Branford, 325 E. Main St.; Regal Stonington, 85 Voluntown Road; Regal Brass Mill, 495 Union St. in Waterbury.
