Skiing fans accustomed to Warren Miller documentaries will be surprised by “Ruin and Rose,” a very different kind of ski movie.
Ben Sturgulewski’s film tells the story of a bunch of children living alone in a huge desert after an environmental apocalypse. One of the children finds evidence that once upon a time there was such a thing as cold weather, he goes in search of more information.
Skiiers appearing in the film include Mark Abma, Sammy Carlson, Markus Eder, Zack Giffin, Sander Hadley, Russ Henshaw, Eric Hjorleifson, Lukas Joas, Sean Jordan, Bene Mayr, Evan McEachran, Michelle Parker, Ole Pavel, Tanner Rainville, Austin Ross, Fabio Studer, Cody Townsend and Noah Wallace. It will be shown Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. at The Palace Theatre, 165 Main St. in Danbury. $20. The screening is sponsored by Ski Haus.
