“Time Chasers” came out in March 1994 and impressed no one. The cheesy thriller told the story an average Joe who turns his airplane into a time machine, then must fight evil henchmen who want to exploit his discovery.

A movie this bad is what RiffTrax is made for. RiffTrax, founded by “Mystery Science Theater 3000” guys Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, will do a life riff on “Time Chasers” on Thursday, May 5, at 8 p.m.

The evening, broadcast live from the Tennessee Performing Arts in Nashville, will be shown with a bad short film. The program will be shown in an “encore” screening on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.

The live screening will be shown at AMC Danbury 16, 61 Eagle Road; Cinemark Buckland Hills, 99 Redstone Road in Manchester; Cinemark North Haven, 550 Universal Drive; Connecticut Post 14, 1201 Boston Post Road in Milford; Cinemark Enfield, inside the mall; Branford 12, 325 E. Main St.; and Regal Brass Mill 12, 495 Union St. in Waterbury. It also will be shown at Cinemark West Springfield 15, 864 Riverdale Road in West Springfield, Mass.

The encore will be shown at all of the above theaters, as well as Stonington 10, 85 Voluntown Road in Pawcatuck. Admission varies from theater to theater. fathomevents.com.
