The fourth annual Reel Youth Hartford Film Festival, an evening of films made by Hartford teenagers about the city, will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Cinestudio, 300 Summit St., on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford.

The young filmmakers come from the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy, the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, the Journalism & Media Magnet Academy, South Windsor Public

Schools, Watkinson School, Timothy Edwards Middle School, Trinity Boys & Girls Club, the Classical Magnet School, GEMS, Northwest Boys & Girls Club and the University High School of Science and Engineering.

Following the event, a DJ-ed reception will take place in Mather Hall featuring refreshments, a photo booth, raffle prizes, and an awards ceremony. Awards to be offered include the grand jury prize, “Hartford Awesome,” audience choices, social justice, best screenplay, best cinematography and best performance. The social justice theme this year is nonviolence, and the award is sponsored by the CT Center for Nonviolence. Information: reelyouthhartford.org.
