A movie by a Wallingford filmmaker that was shot in New London and Groton is being shown in two screenings.

“The Missing Girl” tells the story of Mort (Robert Longstreet), who owns a comic book store. Mort broods about a lot of things, especially about Ellen (Alexia Rasmussen), his cute young employee, who resembles a girl Mort knew long ago.

A.D. Calvo’s psychological drama had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and then was shown at Fantastic Fest and the Woodstock (N.Y.) Film Festival.

The movie will be shown on Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at Whitney Humanities Center, 53 Wall St. in New Haven. Admission is free. It also will be shown Thursday, July 21, at 7 p.m. at Holiday Cinemas, 970 Colony Road in Wallingford. Admission is $9.75.

Calvo said the film also will be shown sometime in August at the Garde Arts Center in New London. Calvo will be present at all screenings.
