On Halloween weekend, Real Art Ways in Hartford is going against the grain and showing a movie that isn’t scary at all, unless you’re not a fan of Natalie Merchant: a documentary about the upcoming release of Merchant’s new album.

“Paradise is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings” marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Merchant’s breakthrough solo album, “Tigerlily.” Her new album, “Paradise is There,” which drops on Nov. 6, reimagines all of the songs from that album. In addition to musical footage, the film incorporates vignettes from Merchant’s life and interviews with her friends and fans.

“Paradise is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings” will be shown on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. Real Art Ways is at 56 Arbor St. Admission is $11, $7 seniors and students, $5 members, $4.50 senior and student members. realartways.org.
