On Friday, July 11, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford begins its annual summer series of “Movies and Music Under the Stars,” which feature live music, a la carte dinners and classic films in the museum’s Gengras Court.

The kickoff film is “The Thin Man Goes Home,” the 1945 installment of the “Thin Man” series of comic mysteries with Myrna Loy and William Powell. The next film, on July 18, is “Song of the Thin Man,” from 1947.

The remaining films in the series have a “Femmes Fatales” theme, featuring legendary actresses in seductive roles. The lineup is Greta Garbo’s “Ninotchka” on July 25, Jean Harlow’s “Bombshell” on Aug. 1, Hedy Lamarr’s “Ecstasy” on Aug. 15 and Marlene Dietrich’s “Desire” on Aug. 22.

All events begin at 5:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 8:15 p.m. Details and admission prices: thewadsworth.org.
