On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27 and 28, Real Art Ways will show an acclaimed drama that gives a different perspective on the Civil War.

“Men Go To Battle” takes place in 1861, telling the story of two Kentucky brothers struggling to hold onto their meager farm. Circumstances develop that compels one of the brothers to join the army, leaving the other one behind to take care of the farm all alone.

The microbudget indie, which uses no artificial lighting, will be shown at 3 p.m. each day at the art space at 56 Arbor St. in Hartford. Admission is $11, $7 seniors and students, $5 members, $4.50 senior and student members. realartways.org.
