A movie about a real-life gay activist who became a fundamentalist Christian anti-gay activist is the latest in the Second Thursdays series of LGBT-themed films at Cinestudio, 300 Summit St., at Trinity College in Hartford.

“I Am Michael” tells the story of Michael Glatze (James Franco), who was a gay youth activist in San Francisco and the co-founder of “Young Gay America” magazine. After a health scare, he turned away from the gay lifestyle and toward Mormonism, and then later fundamentalist Christianity.

The movie, which stars starring Zachary Quinto as his boyfriend and Emma Roberts as his girlfriend, will be shown on April 13 at 7:30 p.m. $10, $8 seniors, students and Friends of Cinestudio. outfilmct.org and cinestudio.org.
