School’s out, and that means local cinemas are bringing out the kids’ movies. A kids’ film festival is happening in New Haven, and several Hartford-area multiplexes are starting low-cost summerlong kids’ film series.

The 11th annual Children’s Film Festival at Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel St. in New Haven, will be Saturday, June 17, at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A stop-motion animation lab will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and storytelling will happen in the galleries. Programs of movies made by children will be held at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 and 1:45 p.m. Admission is free to both the museums and the films.

At Bloomfield 8, 863 Park Ave., the AMC Classic Summer Movie Camp will show classic kids’ movies on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. all summer. The admission is $4 and includes the movie, a soda, popcorn and fruit snacks. The lineup is “The Lorax” on June 19 and 21; “Trolls” June 26 and 28; “Pets” on July 3 and 5; “How To Train Your Dragon” on July 10 and 12; “Pup Star” on July 17 and 19; “Sing” on July 24 and 26; “Home” on July 31 and Aug. 2; “Despicable Me” on Aug. 7 and 9 and “The Peanuts Movie” on Aug. 14 and 16.

The Bow Tie Cinemas Summer Kids Series 2017, a series of films on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m., will be shown at Bow Tie Palace 17 at 330 New Park Ave. in Hartford. Admission is free. The lineup is “Hotel Transylvania” on June 20 and 21, “The Angry Birds Movie” on June 27 and 28, “The Peanuts Movie” on July 5 (no movie on Tuesday, July 4), “Storks” on July 11 and 12, “Ice Age: Collision Course” on July 18 and 19, “Trolls” on July 25 and 26, “Kung Fu Panda 3” on Aug. 1 and 2, “Hotel Transylvania 2” on Aug. 8 and 9 and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” on Aug. 15 and 16.

The “Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse” series of films will be shown at Cinemark Buckland Hills, 99 Redstone Road in Manchester; Cinemark Enfield, in the mall; and Cinemark North Haven, 550 Universal Drive. Films to be shown this year are “Shrek the Third,” “Goosebumps,” “The Iron Giant,” “Hotel Transylvania,” “Megamind,” “The Angry Birds Movie,” “Sing,” “The Secret Life of Pets,” “The Lego Batman Movie” and “Trolls.” Admission is $1 per film or $5 for a 10-film pass. Some theaters show the movies at 9 a.m., some at 10 a.m. Some theaters show the movies on both Mondays and Wednesdays, and some on Mondays only or Wednesdays only.
