In 1966 French New Wave auteur Francois Truffaut had the good fortune to be given an eight-day interview with legendary director Alfred Hitchcock. Out of that interview came a book, “Cinema According to Hitchcock.” That book has influenced filmmakers ever since, and several of them discuss their inspiration in the new documentary, “Hitchcock / Truffaut.”

The film features archival footage of the legendary interview, and commentary by directors including Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Richard Linklater, Paul Schrader and Martin Scorsese.

The movie will be shown Sunday to Thursday, Dec. 13 to 17, at Cinestudio, 300 Summit St., on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. daily with a 4:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Another special screening at Cinestudio this week is “Jane Eyre,” an encore showing of the National Theatre Live stage play. It will be shown Sunday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. The presentation, including intermission, is about four hours.

Admission is $9, $7 for seniors, students and Friends of Cinestudio. cinestudio.org.
