Spring has officially sprung because drive-in movie theaters are opening for the season.

Mansfield Drive-In, at 28 Stafford Road, at the intersection of Routes 31 and 32, opened its 2016 season on Thursday, March 24. Its three screens will be showing double features of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “10 Cloverfield Lane”; “Deadpool” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”; and “Zootopia” and “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens,” all starting at 8 p.m. In addition, on opening night, all concessions are $3. Admission is $10 for adults, and $7 for children ages 4 to 7, seniors and military with ID.

Pleasant Valley Drive-In in Barkhamsted will wait a few more weeks to open, the date has yet to be announced.

On April 2, Mansfield will host a charity car show during the day and a screening of the classic 2001 movie “The Fast and the Furious” that evening.

Weekend flea markets also have resumed at Mansfield; they are held every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southington Drive-In, which is run by the Southington Parks and Recreation Department and shows classic family-friendly films, will open June 4 for 14 Saturdays in a row. The lineup is not yet determined.
