Some people celebrate Valentine’s weekend with flowers, chocolates, a dinner at a romantic restaurant. Others go see vampire movies.

An event on Feb. 12 and 13 at Bristol Historical Society is for the latter group. A double feature of classic Dracula films will be shown in three separate screenings.

“Dracula,” the legendary 1931 movie starring Bela Lugosi, will be followed by the lesser-known “Dracula’s Daughter,” a 1936 sequel starring Gloria Holden, about a Hungarian countess haunted by evil thoughts. The program also features classic cartoons.

Showtime is Friday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 13, at 1 and 7 p.m. Admission for all is a $3 suggested donation. A life-sized figure of Lugosi as Dracula will be on site for people to take selfies.
