The New Britain Museum of American Art’s Salvador Dalí exhibit closed on June 26, but NBMAA is still celebrating Dalí, with a film screening on June 30 of a short film that was the result of a collaboration between Dalí and Walt Disney.

“Destino” tells the story of a woman in love through surreal imagery. Production on the six-minute film began in 1945 and was postponed because of wartime problems. Production began again in 2000 under the leadership of Disney’s nephew Roy Edward Disney and it was released in 2003.

The film will be accompanied by a documentary about the project and the friendship between Disney and Dalí.

Showtime is at 1 and 4 p.m. at the museum at 56 Lexington St. Admission to the film is free with museum admission, which is $15, $12 for senoirs, $10 for students, free for children younger than 12. nbmaa.org.
