A teacher with an unsatisfying life finds a mission in “The Kindergarten Teacher.”

The Israeli movie tells the story of Nira, who becomes convinced that her 5-year-old student Yoav is a poetic genius. As she becomes closer to him, the line between protecting him and exploiting him blurs.

Nadav Lapid’s psychological drama, which is in Hebrew with subtitles, will be shown Thursday, Aug. 27, through Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Cinestudio, 300 Summit St., on the campus of Trinity College in Hartford. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. daily, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Admission is $9, $7 for seniors and students. cinestudio.org.
