The Archbishop O’Brien Library in Bloomfield, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of Our Lady of Fátima with a two-film series about that historic event.

From May to October in 1917, on the 13th day of each month, three peasant children in Fátima, Portugal — Lúcia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto — witnessed a visitation from the Virgin Mary. Jacinta and Francisco have been canonized and Lucia has been beatified, the first step toward canonization.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, the feature film “The Thirteenth Day” will tell the story of Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia.

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, the documentary “Finding Fatima” includes archival footage, historical reenactments and interviews with Fatima experts and relatives of eyewitnesses.

Showtime is 10 a.m. each day at the library, which is at the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary, 467 Bloomfield Ave. Admission is free. Registration is recommended and can be made by calling 860-242-5573, ext. 2608/2623.
