Bethlehem Township Sgt. The officers joined members of the Freedom High School faculty for a brief photo op to promote a fundraiser being held at Freedom High School. Freedom faculty members are raising funds for treating cancer at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. Under Freedom planetarium director Bill Safranek's leadership, astronomy students raised $7000 in three weeks for the Bethlehem School District Mini-THON (a planetarium show raised $4000 alone). Bethlehem Township police said theyÕve raised more than $1,500. Township police Chief Daniel Pancoast has agreed to waive the department's policy regarding shaving to enable officers competition for the longest, grayest and fullest beards. Donations are being accepted until Dec. 1.
