Mom is my hero. She laughs in the face of adversity. She has had a very complex life. Her oldest daughter had a reaction to the DPT baby shot at 10 months and was left brain-damaged. She went on to graduate Allen High School, thanks to my mother. Then Dad got very early Alzheimer's and she took care of him for 15 years before a nursing home became involved. Then her younger daughter contracted stage four lung cancer and has been on treatments for the past four years. She is my primary support system. I couldn't go through treatments without her.
