Science in the Summer program

Third grader Kira Lingle of Quakertown rolls up a streamer that represents a strand of DNA. The idea is to fit the long strand of "DNA" into an east egg that represents a cell nucleus. She's participating in GlaxoSmithKline's Science in the Summer, a unique, hands-on learning program administered by The Franklin Institute that uses first-hand observation and experimentation to teach science to 2nd through 6th graders. The program is held through this week at the Quakertown branch of the Bucks County Free Library.
