DONNA FISHER / THE MORNING CALL
February 2, 2013
Carson Frey of Germansville, left, and Bob Schantz of Greenawalds, holding Lee the groundhog, grandson of Yahdee the groundhog, await word on Yahdee's prediction of the forthcoming weather at the Groundhog Day event at sunrise. This was at the annual Grundsau Lodsch Number 16 of Schnecksville Goundhog Day event held at Wehr's Dam Covered Bridge Park at sunrise Saturday. In the opinion of Yahdee the lodge's groundhog there will be some cold days and there will be some warm days ahead which means people can start their gardens and plant their peas on St. Patrick's Day in March.
