One person was killed and at least two others hurt on Route 22 north of Allentown in a Wednesday night crash that created a major traffic jam on the highway. The three-vehicle accident happened about 8:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the Lehigh River in Whitehall Township. Ambulances were dispatched to the scene. At about 8:40 p.m., officers radioed that one person had died and two others needed ambulances. The Lehigh County coroner's office was summoned to the scene. Emergency workers draped a blue tarp over one of the vehicles involved in the crash. A small moving truck, also involved, sat nearby.
