Parkland School's Food Bank Project

Kernsville Elementary 5th grader Tyler Butler, 10, of North Whitehall Township, helps load a box of donated food unto a pallet, as she joins students and staff members from the Parkland School District in a large volunteer project to help Second Harvest Food Bank during the district's 8th Annual District-wide community service event. The result is a 15,000+ item donation. On Wednesday, 45 student representatives from throughout the district helped load and wrap pallets that was then delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Allentown. Second Harvest Director Ann McManus led the students on a tour, where she explained how the non-profit helps the needy, as well as how the food bank works to feed 50,000 people each month in the local region.
