Dr. Haytmanek carves up some brains with the kids

Dr. Craig Haytmanek (right), an Otolaryngologist from Bethlehem, works with students (left to right), Lauren Luzzo, 15, of Easton; Morgan Benyo, 15, of Northampton; Samantha Rodriguez, 14, of Allentown; and Sabrina Rodriguez, 15, of Allentown; while teaching a class at the Medical Arts Charter School in Catasauqua on Friday afternoon. Dr. Haytmanek, the Board President of the school, which prepares students for a career in the Medical Field, comes each Friday afternoon to explain the medical intricacies of the human body using animal organs donated by a local butcher. The kids decide what they would like to dissect and Dr. Haytmanek teaches the kids how these organs work in the human body to regulate and control our metabolic functions. Today's class dissected the brain of a pig and learned the various structures and what they do in human bodies.
